How does it work?
Phenoxymethylpenicillin belongs to a group of antibiotics
called penicillins. They kill bacteria by interfering with their ability
to form cell walls. The bacteria therefore break up and die.
What is it used for?
• Ear infections
• Inflammation of the tonsils due to infection (tonsillitis)
• Prevention against recurrence of rheumatic fever or prevention of
pneumococcal infection
• Skin infections caused by the streptococcus bacteria
