INDICATIONS
Nitrofurantoin, the active ingredient of FURANTOINA, is a chemotherapeutic agent specific for acute or recurrent urinary tract infections caused by bacteria.

FURANTOINA, Nitrofurantoin is active against bacteria that are usually resistant to antibiotics and sulfonamides, such as Proteus species and Pseudomonas species and it does not promote the development of resistant strains.

FURANTOINA, Nitrofurantoin is indicated for the treatment and prevention of all bacterial infections of the genito-urinary tract due to susceptible bacteria: pyelitis, pyelonephritis, cystitis, prostatitis and urethritis.
Chemoprophylaxis in urologic surgery or examinations.
